DENSO ULTRASEAL RT – COLD APPLIED BITUMINOUS TAPE
Denso Ultraseal Reinforcing Tape (RT) is a synthetic fibre backed adhesive bitumen compound tape. Includes a release coated paper interleaving which is removed during application. Denso Ultraseal Reinforcing Tape (Ultraseal RT) is designed for use as an outer armouring for Densyl or Denso Petrolatum Tapes. Ultraseal RT Tape is spirally applied and the coated with Denso Acrylic Topcoat or a solvent free Epoxy (Denso ST100) which quickly sets to form a tough UV resistant outer armouring.
Denso RT Tape can also be used in the following applications:
– Flashings and profile copings on all types of roofs.
– Side and end laps on asbestos and metal roofs.
– General roof repairs.
– Parapet wall capping.
– Tankbase protection.
Designed as an above ground outer wrap for Denso or Densyl petrolatum tapes. Provides physical and mechanical protection for the petrolatum tapes.
- Will adhere and remain attached to petrolatum based tapes.
- Fast and simple to apply.
- No special tools, heating or drying required.
- Non-hardening or cracking.
- Stable in composition and plasticity over a wide temperature range.
- Accommodates vibration and movement of substrate.
- Highly resistant to mineral acids, alkalis and salts.
- No volatile components.
The membrane consists of a non-woven synthetic fibre fabric laminated to a pressure sensitive, modified bitumen compound. The rolls are interleaved with a disposable release film.
Prior to application of Ultraseal RT, complete steps as per recommendations for the inner petrolatum tapes.
Apply tape with the compound side to inner tape and smooth down by hand. Ultraseal RT is spirally applied with at least 25 mm overlap. To promote adhesion in cold weather, it is preferable to warm up the tape to at least 15 degree Celcius before application.
Topcoat: Denso Acrylic Topcoat will set to form a tough UV resistant outer armouring.
Not designed as a primary corrosion protection tape for pipe work or steel.
Normal hygiene procedures. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water or a proprietary hand-cleaner prior to eating or smoking. Launder contaminated clothing, gloves, etc.
